Collybia fusipes
The common name of this fungi is Spindle Shank.
It is commonly found in small clusters near the buttress roots of both the native oaks- Quercus robur and Quercus petraea.
The stems are tough, if one pulls a mushroom from the ground the whole stem will pull out.
Spindle Shank appears to decay roots, but the decay has not been thoroughly investigated. It is not known whether it can cause root plate failure.
